Tubac, AZ is a little known artist colony located approximately 15 miles north of the Arizona / Mexico border (approx. 40 miles south of Tucson). The town was founded in 1732 by Spaniards and is the oldest Spanish settlement in the United States.
In 2009, Tubac was voted one of the top ten "coolest" small towns in America by Yahoo.com. Its historic, artistic, and spiritual surroundings make this town a treasured retreat for those of us compelled to write.
It's serene, comfortable, and inspiring. Writers who spend a week at the retreat cannot believe the incredible amount of quality writing they achieve when outside of their home environment.
